i have a similar machine, stalker runs ok.... i have a PCI express not AGP.... maybe you just need the tweaks..
Loading Stalker as we speak...
i bet yer machine would play the second half-life...that was fun.
BUT, after you upgrade get F.E.A.R..... it's an awesome game.... maybe even Quake IV
Actually was able to run those OK. Got HL2 Orange Box, Quake IV, played FEAR. The only thing my machine doesn't really fun are the latest games that came out in the last year or so, ie. CoD4, STALKER, UT3, etc.
It's a P4 3.2 (no duo/quad proc) with 2GB PC3200 and a BFG Tech Nvidia 7800 (still AGP). So it's definitely an older rig, but still handles everything say....pre-'07 pretty good. Eventually I'll upgrade but it won't be for awhile as I'm putting myself through school on my own. I make too much to get grants, etc, but not enough to go full time and get it done and over with fast. I'm thinking I'll have to upgrade for when Fallout 3, GTA4 and Left4Dead hit. Definitely upgrade for L4D.
hmm videogames and hard rock is yer typical sifts.
do me a favor and play a videogame called s.t.a.l.k.e.r.
i just love that one to pieces.
Believe it or not, I actually started to. But my system is so behind the times, it's not even funny. (Last time I upgraded was in 2004.) I'm actually playing through Tron 2.0 again, but I do love those FPS/"RPG" type games such as System Shock 2, Deux Ex, Tron 2.0, NOLF 2, S.T.A.L.K.E.R., etc. My machine was just so sluggish running it; I figure I'm saving it for a rainy day (and/or when I get my box upgraded).

Well I'm sorry I lectured you, I didn't realize you were not receptive to my opinions about LDS.
In reply to this comment by thepinky:
I am LDS. I just refer to the church and church members in the third person in order to avoid accusatory and/or defensive language. People always start attacking ME instead of engaging in a good discussion of the CJCLDS, so I thought I'd try it this way for once. And people always try to convert me.

So why are you so attracted to LDS?
Who is attracting you to LDS?
Why are they attracting you to LDS?
Why does LDS need to help you?

To what point and purpose ought I to compare them? I firmly believe that I will form a more just opinion of both by comparing them individually.
I ask you to seek an understanding of the CJCLDS from good sources and form an unbiased opinion based on facts instead of propaganda. But that is just too much to ask of some people. They would rather just watch some videos and read the first Mormon criticisms they can google.

I think you are really pretty ..... that I compared LDS to Scientology. Well, you are certainly right, I'm always unhappy when someone compares ME (to anyone else).
A movie you haven't seen, a religion you don't know, some people who certainly seem happy with the religion they've chosen.
Actually I'm glad you asked me about the LDS. I certainly used hard language in the comment, it's obviously not a constructive comment.
Spending a few minutes googling LDS people who have left the church is really, gives me a sadly familiar feeling. I have to reflect on what these people seem to be feeling. A raw feeling of loss, a cold horror at all that had been taken from them. Even without the exit stories, the LDS is just unfamiliar and strange.
Seems like you asked me not to compare LDS and Scientology. Rather, I ask you personally to actively compare the two.
The film has received extraordinarily unfavorable reviews, and holds a 13% overall rating and a 0% Cream of the Crop rating at the aggregate site Rotten Tomatoes as of February 6, 2008. It received a rare "zero stars" review from film critic Roger Ebert, and the New York Post gave the movie an unusual 0/4.
The film has been described by various critics (most or all of whom are not LDS) as "the year's first honest-to-goodness exploitation flick," as "carrying an anti-Mormon agenda," as "some sort of attack piece on the Mormon religion," as "little more than wild-eyed anti-Mormon propaganda," as "a stridently anti-Mormon and cliché-heavy melodrama," as "unbelievably ugly and an insult to Mormons," as a "Swift Boating of Mormonism that advocates the religious intolerance it’s supposedly condemning," as "clearly anti-Mormon," as an "anti-Mormon broadside" that is "certain to fan the flames of hatred toward America's largest homegrown religion and continue the persecution that terrified the original Mormons."
The movie has "the chilling certitude of the self-righteous" that goes beyond "mockery" and is "practically a call to jihad [against Mormons]." It "equates the institution of the Mormon church with Islamic extremism at every opportunity," it is "propaganda pure and simple," is "filmmaking at its worst...full of propaganda," and it "goes way beyond history into the realm of speculation, rumor, myth and gossip." Critics further state that the movie "feel[s] like blatant propaganda," and that there is an "unmistakable air of evil about this enterprise, and not just an atrocity the Mormon church caused to happen 150 years ago" and its negative portrayal of Mormons is "unsubtle (in the manner most closely associated with Dr. Goebbels)."

Ummmm...soooo...I wouldn't exactly base my opinions about Mormons on that movie.
Furthermore, Mormons do not pay their clergy and so are FAR FAR FAR less likely to be corrupt than other religions. I don't really see how corruption plays a role at all.
Every Mormon I have ever come into contact with has been extremely kind, happy, and helpful. I think that the media and other ignorant people choose to focus on the most unusual elements of the religion, take them out of context, and call them crazy. It is incredibly bigoted, intolerant, ignorant, and unkind. I think it is EXTREMELY unfair to compare the LDS church with Scientology. Ridiculous, in fact. For goodness' sake, they're good people. They're just misunderstood.
In reply to this comment by marinara:
pinky, you're trying to be fair to the mormons.
I would rather not be fair.
but then i just watched September Dawn.
I would rather ask.... is Mormons more or less of a con game, than say, Scientology? I actually liked L. Ron Hubbard, can't say the same for Joe Smith.
Mormonism = the church of the latter day saints and the elders and the corrupt and etc.

Either could be right. I choose to believe that she's gonna drop out tomorrow, but the HuffPo piece is perfectly consistent with how she's run her campaign up to this point.
I think when it comes down to it, she'll concede, otherwise it's unlikely she'll get to remain in politics.
At least, with the Democratic party.
